Hello,

As Words Angel, I actively promote the need to raise awareness of chronic and invisible illnesses. This article from the Guardian website on Tuesday 1st December highlights the difficulties of people diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (P.T.S.D).  http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/dec/01/ptsd-special-forces-post-traumatic-stress-disorder

I personally know a handful of people affected with this condition and have seen first hand the destruction it causes. People with P.T.S.D become empty shells of their former selves and if they were previously a strong, active person it can be incredibly difficult for their family and friends to understand. The best way forward is to educate yourselves on symptoms and best practice. Learn how you can support your friend, family member, colleague or member of staff without making their condition ‘an issue’. My P.T.S.D affected friends did not want to become victims or thought of as weak.

I have added links to related websites if you would like further information on the condition:
