Since opening Words Angel last September, I have been astounded by how many students don’t contact me for proofreading until the very last minute. On my website, I make no secret of the fact that I prefer student customers to submit work to be checked at least one week before the deadline.
This is for 2 reasons:
- In addition to checking spelling and grammar, I also offer suggestions as to how essays/dissertations can be improved. Customers then have time to take up my suggestions if they want to.
- I do not want to share dissertation stress. I have previously, against my better judgement, proofread work at the very last minute and the pressure has been unbearable.
I would suggest that if you haven’t completely finished your work but time is getting tight, simply send me what you have and finish off the last bit while I work on the rest. I do not need to have the complete document in one hit. Chunks of text are also good.
